- High school graduate
- Some college preferred
- Successful completion of district background check

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Building Principal / Assistant Principals
JOB GOAL: To assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 6 hours/day; nine months a year
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Consistent and punctual “on site” attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Performs clerical duties such as attendance reports, typing, filing, and handling routine interruptions such as notes, messages and deliveries
- Performs supervisory duties, such as lunchroom, playground, halls and classroom
- Types, draws, writes and duplicates instructional materials
- Prepares bulletin boards, graphs and charts
- Assembles materials as directed
- Checks papers, workbooks, homework and tests as directed
- Helps in the care and cleanliness of the room
- Reads to students, listens to students read
- Helps students with make-up work
- Assists in individual or group activities: games, flash cards, etc.
- Practices skill drills to reinforce concepts and learning targets
- Alerts teacher to needs of students
- Assists teacher in checking progress of individualized study projects
- Assists with inventory of supplies and equipment
- Assists with field trips
- Makes educational games and aids
- Assists when emergencies arise
- Performs any other delegated non-instructional responsibility assigned by teacher or administrator
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assists in supporting an orderly and productive learning environment
- Follows and supports district protocols and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
