JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORTATION PERSONNEL
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license; ability to get CDL
- School bus driver’s license
- Must pass a DOT physical
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Director Building and Grounds and Director of Transportation
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the districts' program and to assist in the repair of the buildings and the maintenance of grounds so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months HOURS: M-F 7-4 60 Minute Lunch
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Consistent and punctual attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Obey all traffic laws
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report undisciplined students to the proper authority
- Keep his/her assigned bus clean
- Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects and notify the proper authorities in the case of mechanical failure
- Keep to his/her assigned schedule
- Discharge students only at authorized stops
- Transport only authorized students
- Report all accidents and advise about all possible safety problems
- Participate in the necessary painting and general repairs to all physical facilities in the district
- Participate in the maintenance of the school grounds and assist in snow removal
- Participate in the delivery of supplies and equipment to the school buildings
- Participate in the transportation in the food service program of the district
- Perform emergency repair or cleaning services as necessary or as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (Intellectual, Sensory):
- Visual and auditory requirements for driving, loading and unloading
- Motor skills - hands/legs/feet
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Make safe driving decisions
