JOB GOAL:  To organize and conduct a learning situation which will enable students to master appropriate levels of English subject matter, skill in communication, an appreciation of our culture and heritage, and a respect for the rights of others.  The classroom teacher shall make a positive contribution which will assist the student in his/her development as a mature, able and responsible adult.

  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Nine-month year as established by the Board of Education

 

EVALUATION:  Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  This is a generalized job description.  Specific English teaching assign­ments (English 9-11, American Literature, Advanced Composition, AP Literature/Composition, Research Composition, British Literature, Practical Communication, World Literature, Yearbook, Young Adult Novels, Mythology, Science Fiction, Shakespeare, Theatre, Creative Writing, Speech, etc.) may vary somewhat in essential functions and requirements.  Applicants should be made aware of specific requirements prior to employment.
