JOB TITLE: BUILDING (PRINCIPAL'S) SECRETARY
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree preferred or comparable experience
- Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and/or accounting
- Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute
- Computer and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
REPORTS TO: Junior High Principal
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Junior High Principal
JOB GOAL: To receive each contact with the school in a friendly, helpful manner, and perform secretarial duties efficiently and expeditiously to benefit the operation of the school
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months – 40 hours week with benefits
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually on the basis of effort, enthusiasm, inter-personal skills, proofreading, organization, appearance, and knowledge of school environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Maintain substitute teacher sign-in sheet, substitute summary, and non-certificated personnel time sheets
- Assist in the preparation of the building budget, purchase orders and accounting system
- Responsible for the counting, recording, and deposit of monies collected within the building
- Responsible for furniture, equipment, and textbook inventories on computer
- Assist with preparation of the school improvement report and applicable state and district reports
- Order and dispense office supplies for staff
- Perform general receptionist duties including answering the phone and intercom, greeting visitors, assisting staff and students, and sorting mail and delivery items
- Perform general secretarial duties including typing, filing, operating office machines (including copier, FAX, etc.)
- Filing responsibilities include: school forms, general correspondence, etc.
- Prepare materials for administrators upon request
- Select and train office aides
- Other duties as assigned by the building administrators
