JOB TITLE:             DIRECTOR OF STUDENT PROGRAMS

REQUIREMENTS:  - Master's Degree with academic training in special education

                             - Valid teaching certificate in administration and supervision with an

                                endorsement in administration of special education 

                             - At least five years successful experience in public education,

                               part of which have been in teaching or supervising in the field

                               of special education

                              - Such alternative to the above qualifications as the board may find

                                appropriate and acceptable

                              - Successfully pass district background check

 

 

REPORTS TO:       Superintendent

 

RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM:   Superintendent

 

 

JOB GOAL:    Supervision of and general responsibility for the total programs of

                     Special Education PK-21, ELL, Nurses, Native Americans (Title VI),

                     Homeless, Migrant, Poverty.  To provide leadership in establishing sound

                     educational programs for all children.

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Twelve month (260 day contract) as established by

                                           the Board of Education.

 

EVALUATION:        Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance

                              with the provisions of the district's Administrative Personnel Evaluation Policy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  

The Superintendent will develop administrative regulations containing a specific job description for the Director of Student Programs.
